"THAT'S MY PUPUSA!"
"Don't ever mess with a man's
  mutant-friends or his pupusas."

This past weekend, yours truly went to the movies for the first time in
12 years. Actually, it was more like a couple of months. But being that
the last movie was Shanghai Knights, it might as well have been 12 years.
The last good movie I saw was Catch Me If You Can, which just came out
on video. If you haven't had a chance to check that one out, I highly
recommend it. I'll be adding that one to my collection, which includes
other great titles such as The Emperor's New Groove [LOL...].

Okay, back to the topic at hand: X2. Let me start off by saying that
X2: X-Men United is a step above the original. The original film served as
an introduction to the characters in the X-Men series. Although it was
nice to see the X-Men characters realized in person, the first movie was
mediocre at best, but served its purpose.

With that said, X2 is a good movie, better than the original. So as to not
bore you with any more paragraphs, I listed 5 things I liked about X2 and
5 things that I didn't like. So here's the list:

5 Things I liked about X2: X-Men United: [IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER]

1. By far, the movie's opening sequence is its best. This sequence
includes the best fight scene in X2 as well as the introduction of
Nightcrawler. The special effects in this sequence are innovative,
it doesn't leave you feeling like you just watched some Matrix rip-off.
I even enjoyed the sound that Nightcrawler makes when teleporting.
2. Although his appearance is quick, the introduction of Colossus during
the scene where the special-ops take over
the X-Men mansion is noteworthy. He is
the character that turns into metal when
being shot at. It happens really quickly,
     so don't blink.

3. Iceman's coming-out scene. This is where
Iceman reveals to his parents that he is a
mutant and his parents respond by asking
him if he can stop being one.

4. The original tension between the Wolverine/ Jean Gray/ Cyclops love
triangle. And the additional tension between the Wolverine/ Rogue/
     Iceman love triangle.

5. The Wolverine v. Lady Deathstrike battle...'nuff said.

5 Things I disliked about X2: X-Men United: [IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER]

1. Actually, the thing that bothered me the most is the fact that Wolverine
cried when Jean Gray "dies" [oops...hope I didn't ruin if for you]. Let me
say this, and I say it with all confidence...Wolverine should not have
    cried when Jean Gray "died".
He should have left the crying
    to wussy-boy Cyclops.
Wolverine is just not the type
that would cry, even for his
    love interest Jean Gray. But
    I guess its all speculation
    since he doesn't really exist.
    But either way, Wolverine
    wouldn't cry.

2. It also bothered me that Jean Gray died. It seems hard to believe that
she could not have elevated the X-Jet from inside the plane. Just my
thought. [And yes Mario, I know that she doesn't really die...all I am
saying is that she could have lifted the damn plane from inside...it
doesn't make sense that she had to do it from outside, you're missing
the point here my friend: NOTE - EDITOR AND CHIEF ALWAYS HAS
THE FINAL WORD...lol
] 3. The fight scene between Wolverine and Lady Deathstrike was fun to watch, but it seems like Wolverine can only win by getting lucky. I wouldn't have minded her dying [oops...hope I didn't ruin if for you] the way she did, but I would have liked to see Wolverine slap her around a little longer...you know, make us feel like he won the fight. 4. The fact that it feels like there is no beginning, middle or end...the movie is just loop after loop after loop.
5. You know what, four of them is all I got, which means the movie has
more positive than negatives...go watch it. OVERALL GRADE: SOLID "B"
