I Wanna Be Like...Nobody!!

Ahhh...the good ole' days.

In this week's column, the East Bay native get's a little help from Mr. Escobar himself...Nasty Nas

Jordan has fallen big time. I feel sorry for the kids that heard so much about how great Jordan was, and now the perception that they have of him playing is in a Wizards uni. I don't even pay attention to jordan nowadays. In my mind he retired back when he went to play minor league ball with the Birmingham Barons. I remember Jordan as the guy who made Nike commercials directed by Spike Lee, Gatorade ads with catchy jingles in his honor and the clutch superstar who made game winning jumpers to win playoff series...not as the politician, mujeriego, and slightly above
average
player that he has become.
Thank goodness for
ESPN classic...(even though we don't have
digital cable).

Push the pool stick in your new crib, same hand that you hoop
with Swing around like you stu-pid, king'a the town, yeah I been that
You know I click-clack where you and yor men's at
Do the Smurf, do the Wop, Baseball Bat
Rooftop like we bringing '88 back.
(Nas - "Made You Look")

In other news, what's up with your Miami vecino, Livan...that guy went crazy with the golf club yesterday. Maybe we'll luck out and his actions will nulify his contract with the Giants. There has to be some sort of moral clause in there...then Sabean will have that much more cash to bring some top notch talent to the Bay..and rid the team of some inconsistent dead weight (and that's some heavy weight may I add).

And in a media world featuring a plethora of reality based programming, brace yourselves young crickets (or grasshopppers if u will) for a brand new show...get this...based on the life of your favorite former NBA center, the man who back in the 70s did not know the concept of a Gillete razor, the model for the Teen Wolf movie and Saturday Morning cartoon series...(drum roll por fa')...Bill Walton!! Check your local listings...and plan to read a book.

My, first album had no famous guest appearances
The outcome: I'm crowned the best lyricist
Many years on this professional level
Why would you question who's better? The world is still mine
Tattoos real with "God's Son" across the belly
The boss of rap, you saw me in "Belly" with thoughts like that
To take it back to Africa, I did it with Biggie
Me and Tupac were soldiers of the same struggle
You lames should huddle, your team's shook
Y'all feel the wrath of a killer, 'cause this is my football field
Throwin' passes from a barrel, shoulder pads apparel
But the Q.B. don't stand for no quarterback
Every word is like a sawed-off blast, 'cause y'all all soft
And I'm the black hearse that came to haul y'all ass in
It's for the hood by the corner store
Many try, many die, come at Nas if you want a war...
(Nas - "Got Ur Self A Gun")

Man...we're the reppin the Sucka Free...5 time World Champs...ain't nobody done better...we've been runnin things for 2 decades...goin on three...different QBs...different backs...different coaches on the sidelines wearnin slacks...you wanna take a Barlow shot to the dome...or punk T.O in his own home...do what you want...but u best Respect the City! (note: please excuse MC Jeronimo aka Juan Pachanga...he's a little hyped for this Sunday's game)

49ers this weekend. If they get their offense going the team will be in good shape. Tampa just doesn't have the offensive threats that the Giants brought to the 'stick last weekend. The Giants may be a better team than Gruden's boys. Think happy thoughts, and like Peter Pan the scarlet and gold might just fly their way to sunny San Diego and the Super Bowl.

The city never sleeps, full of villians and creeps
That's where I learned to do my hustle had to scuffle with freaks
I'm a addict for sneakers, twenties of buddah and bitches with beepers
In the streets I can greet ya, about blunts I teach ya
Inhale deep like the words of my breath
I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death
I lay puzzle as I backtrack to earlier times
Nothing's equivalent, to the new york state of mind
(Nas - "New York State of Mind)

J-E-T-S...Jets...Jets...Jets!!! While the NYC dominated media is ranting and raving about the Jets and how they may be this year's New England Pats...the Raiders are being slept on...which really bodes well to their advantage. C'mon now folks, this Oakland team is legit. Gannon is the freakin league MVP...and former 49ers Garner and Rice compliment that offense quite nicely...and don't even let me begin talking bout their D. I'm beginning to think that if the Raiders win, the people in NYC might just view the game as an upset. Remember duke, there is life outside of the Big Apple.

peace! I'm out like Cross Colours t-shirts...the World is Yours.
